The Waterwise Garden

DEAKIN ACT

‘The Waterwise Garden’ sits comfortably in the context of a contemporary architectural home in Deakin. Light grey colourbond roofing and water tank finishes are repeated in the planting themes of Westringia, Teucrium and existing street tree plantings of Argle Apple Eucalypt trees.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Varied clipping techniques create interest in the chosen plant material and grey colour palettes are contrasted with strategic plantings of Burgundy Japanese Maples and Loropetalum hedging.

A rolling circular driveway negates the need for off street parking and eliminates expanses of lawn in the front garden. Tough and hardy strappy foliage of Dianella and Phormium cope well under the hungry street tree specimens and newly planted Thuja’s will provide additional privacy in the future.
